Son of the third generation
of well known art dealers established in Rome in 1916, after
twenty years of training in the family business, Paolo Antonacci
founded his own gallery in 1998 in via del Babuino 141 /
A, in the centre of the art district of Rome, carring on
the family tradition.
Paolo Antonacci’s
primary interest is the Italian and European paintings of
“The Grand Tour” and the “Vedute”
of the late Eighteen and Nineteenth Century, focusing on
the views of Rome and its Campagna beloved by hundreds of
artists either Italians and foreign. His constant research
has led him to produce numerous exhibitions in the gallery
and to be one of the most pre-eminent expert in this field.

Besides of this exhibitions
also other events has been organized in the gallery like
exhibitions of contemporary artist, of photographic, ancient
coloured marbles, plasters from the Chiurazzi collection
and many others.
The gallery exhibits regulary
at the major antiques fairs like the Biennale di Palazzo
Corsini in Florence, The Biennale d’Arte at Palazzo
Venezia in Rome, The Milano International Antique Show at
Palazzo della Permanente in Milan.
Over the years, Paolo
Antonacci has forged strong relationships with many National
and International collectors, scholars and museum curators.
He has sold important pictures to the Museo di Roma, to
the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna of Roma, to
the Musei Vaticani, to the Museo del Corso, to the American
Academy of Roma, and to the Sovrintendenza per il Polo Museale
Fiorentino.
Several times in recent
years the gallery Paolo Antonacci had lent important works
from his collection to institutional exhibitions like the
Galleria Nazionale di Arte Moderna, Palazzo Braschi, the
Museo Napoleonico, Istituto Nazionale per la Grafica, Museo
del Corso, Castel Sant’Angelo, Museo Storico Vaticano,
Complesso del Vittoriano, Roma; the MART, Rovereto, the
Villa Mondragone in Frascati, the Palazzo Ducale in Genoa,
Palazzo Milzetti in Faenza.
